ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.” -Brian Tracy

Leading usually earns you the right to work harder than your followers and those you are serving.  Partly because when we lead, we agree to be the example for our followers.

Working hard and being an example comes from having an attitude of gratitude.

What is the first thing you do when you experience any achievement?  Does your heart feel grateful?

More opportunities to achieve and be successful will come when our hearts are full of gratitude.  But it is hard to have a heart of gratitude without the right attitude.  It takes a positive attitude to be grateful.

Pessimism, bitterness, and resentfulness will not bring about an attitude of gratitude.  We have to humble ourselves and come to our senses.  The truth of the matter is we all have achieved because of the help of someone else.

Our thankfulness starts with our actions not with our words.  Who are you sharing your profits or achievements with?  Are you helping someone in need?  Are you helping those who helped you when you had very few possessions?

Our world could use more gratitude.  We need more gratitude in our homes, churches, and workplaces.  One simple way to express gratitude is by utilizing kind words to simply express appreciation to those around you.  It is the simple things that matter.  There are many people diligently laboring around us.  We must acknowledge their accomplishments and efforts to help us reach our goals.

Finally, a big part of having an attitude of gratitude is helping others with their life ambitions. Be a mentor or counselor to encourage someone to reach his or her dreams.  Allocate time in your busy schedule to share your knowledge with your mentee. Supporting the dreams of someone can cause you to reflect and appreciate those you may have forgotten when you were straining to make sense and set the order the objectives in your life.
