Finishing What You've Started

It’s much easier to start, than it is to finish.

We start diets, workout programs, jobs, businesses, families, hobbies, etc.

Why is so hard to finish?

Finishing what you’ve started can be hard because of the process of finishing.

“Finishing what you’ve started is less about finishing, but more about developing your will.”

B.E.Hall

How do you develop your will?

First, you have to shape your will.

Just as a potter shapes clay, it will take time and effort on your part to shape your will to finish.

Shaping Your Will

The beautiful thing about every human life is free choice.  We have the ability to determine our future.  Life is all about choices and we possess the power to choose.

We are influenced by outside factors such as friends, family members, media, etc.  However, when it is all said and done, we are in control over our lives.

It is important to understand that what we allow to enter our minds ends up shaping our will.  It is the books we read, movies we watch, friends we hang out with, and the places we go that precisely shapes and forms our will.

What does this mean?

Be careful of your choices!

Testing Your Will

After you have shaped your will, now it’s time for your will to be tested.

Don’t worry yourself with attempting to test your own will.  You will automatically be tested by the process.  But this process will refine and define your skills causing your will to mature.

So, enjoy the test!

Many people struggle through the testing phase, but know this will make you stronger.  Don’t get so caught up in only finishing that you forget to joy in the growing process of expanding your mind, gifts, and abilities.  The testing phase is priceless.  It teaches patience, humility, and compassion which will serve you well in future endeavors.

If you shape your will the right way and enjoy the test of your will, I have no doubt that you will finish anything you start.

Action: Make smart choices and shape your will appropriately.
