LEADERS MUST BE BRAVE

Are you giving yourself the best opportunity to be successful?

Life is full of opportunities for you to grow and develop yourself.  We are often reluctant and overly cautious about taking advantage of opportunities.  This caution and reluctance stems from fear.  And our fear is a product of attempting to control things out of our control, which inevitably leads our lives into an intertwined web of hesitation and indecisiveness.

How do I know this?  Because I have been there stuck on that web.  The question is – Are you stuck in the web of fear?

Journalist, Multimedia Content Producer, and the Creator of the Rebuild You Life Project Te-erika Patterson wrote an article, 10 Fears You Must Overcome When Starting a New Business, defining 10 things that causes business owners to be fearful with start-ups.

I have discovered that these 10 fears not only apply to business owners and start-ups, but it also applies to students, business professionals, stay-at-home mothers, and anyone else.  This fear will motivate or discourage us.

Choose to Be Brave

The beautiful thing about being a human is having choices.  We are able choose our dreams, destinations, and how will reach these accomplishments.

I choose to face my fears.  I choose to think positive before thinking negative.  I choose to pray before complaining.  I choose to grow in prosperity over shrinking into insufficiency.  I choose to be brave as a leader.

What do you choose?

We must rise to the challenges in our lives.  In your choosing, remember your priorities.

What Bravery Looks Like

You cannot deny the bravery of our soldiers that fight for our country.  You cannot deny the bravery of a mother saving her child from the grasps of a wild animal.  We will never question the bravery of a father saving his child from the depths of a raging river’s waters.

These are extreme acts of bravery, but we aren’t faced with these challenges daily.  Daily we are challenged to be ourselves.  Daily we are challenged to demonstrate unconditional love and to be kind.

The Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  This is why we shouldn’t panic and fear because God will give us an understanding that goes beyond any human thinking.

Next time you have an opportunity to be brave, take advantage of your opportunity.  How important is this opportunity to you?  Take every opportunity to develop yourself and encourage others around you.

Great leaders aren’t afraid to make decisions to capitalize on unique opportunities.  Do you remember the last time you waited to decide and you lost out on the potential big opportunity from being considered for a job to a promotion to the unveiling of a new business to improved financial stability with your personal finances?  Wait no longer and be brave.  You may make a mistake, but you it will be okay as long as you are giving it your best.
