MANAGING YOUR CHANGE
/“The only way to make sense of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.” - Alan Watts
Change is one of those buzzwords we frequently hear and use. The ability to change is an incredible asset to good leaders because nothing ever stays the same.
But when is the best time to change?
Sometimes change doesn’t seem like the right thing. In theses cases, is it possible for us to rush change? Usually we have to change before we think it is necessary. However, there are times when change isn’t necessary. How do you know when it is time to change?
When it comes to change there are few things you should assess. You should always take the time to step back and look at the big picture. This will allow you to see things you commonly wouldn’t see just looking at small portions of your decisions.
For example, let’s take into consideration making a job transition. There are some job transitions that look great because the pay and benefits are significantly better. But you have to also consider the affects that job will have on your family and any other part of your life that is meaningful to you.
Saying yes before thinking about the benefits of saying no may interfere with your life dreams and goals. You should make a decision that will be a disruption or interference to achieving the goals you have set for your life.
It is great to have a plan that includes you assessing the pros and cons of making a decision to put change into action. Of course, I am not telling you to make a comfortable decision because if it is needed for growth into your dream, then it must be done.
After you have examined the reality of your decision to change, make your decision to say yes or no and commit whole-heartedly to your decision. The last thing you need whether you are deciding to change or not is doubt.
